The Starting Over Tag – My Sweet Sixteen

startingoverI love tags, especially when they come from fellow amazing green beauty bloggers, Tamara from Rainbow Feet blog in this instance, and when they’re about green beauty! For this tag I must imagine waking up to a bathroom cabinet that has been stripped of all my green beauty products, or worse filled with their toxic counterparts! Like Tamara stated, quite a nightmare situation to be in (I was very recently tearing my hair out over finding sodium coco sulphate in a supposedly SLS-free shampoo but that’s a post for another day!) so suffice to say I take my skincare seriously.

So what products would I buy if I had to start over? Like Tamara, I will probably have a majority of favourites since I must respect my finicky skin and go with what works but it would be very naive of me to think that I wouldn’t take the opportunity to try something new either, not when I’m given this chance to start over! So without further ado, here are my staples that I would definitely get without a second’s delay:

1. Aurelia Miracle Cleanser
2. Bathing Beauty Miracle Soap (what can I say, I like miracles!)
3. Rahua Voluminous Shampoo (only because it’s the best green one I’ve tried to date and I haven’t tried many!)
4. May Lindstrom The Honey Mud
5. The Organic Oil Co. Antioxidant Face Oil
6. Coola Mineral Sunscreen Face SPF30 Cucumber Matte Finish (soooooo good!)
7. Aurelia Cell Revitalise Night Moisturiser
8. Meow Meow Tweet Tea Tree Deodorant Cream
9. Mitchell & Peach Kentish Cobnut Scrub
10. RMS Living Luminizer
11. Magù Eco Mineral Blush

New Friends
12. Yoshimomo 1-Step Camellia Cleansing Oil
13. Osmia Organics Luz Facial Brightening Serum
14. May Lindstrom The Jasmine Garden
15. Bodhi & Birch Camomile Sky Bath & Shower Therapy
16. Laurel WPO Honey Berry Enzyme Facial Mask

Ok, I must admit, that was pretty hard…especially choosing the new additions as my actual wish list is considerably longer than that! But I know how my skin feels about change (oh, so you thought you would experiment on me did ya? Right, let’s see what we think about that!-is kinda what my skin says if I don’t treat it right). You may also notice that I have next to no makeup but those of you who know me know I don’t use much and I don’t use it everyday. I DO use Living Luminizer and blush every day though!

I would love to see what Ru from Short Small & Sweet, Chesca from Fern + Moss, Sarita from Edible Facial and Rowie from Organic Spirit would have on their Starting Over list!

Happy weekend all!
Nic xx

Haha! Yeah, I know, I was thinking about it but it’s a product I could live without…at least for the first 16 products I get! 😛 Hope you’re having a great weekend Julie! xx

Interesting list, and so jealous that you don’t really need any make-up at all. I still get hormonal breakouts every month and they’re such a pain. Concealer and mascara will be my top 2 indispensable make-up products. Will do this tag soon! xo

Thanks Ru! I don’t know about the not needing makeup, it’s more that I never used it due to bad skin in my 20s which meant I never got around to using it at all. Plus my mum has always advised against using foundation so I kinda took it to heart. That said, there are greener alternatives now that won’t clog your pores and the like so I’m really excited about trying out Gressa’s makeup range! I very much look forward to reading your list, I think we will all get some new ideas off each other =) xx

Hi Stephanie! Thank you 🙂 I’ve yet to try the Laurel mask but it’s definitely one I hope to try soon! In the meantime I am loving May Lindstrom’s Problem Solver and Leahlani Skincare’s Mermaid Mask. Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday! X

Hi! Is Coola your favorite natural sunscreen? Been searching for a perfect one but it is soooo hard.

Lovely picks! I want to stock up on the Honey Mud again but whenever I insert it in a shopping cart, I cannot justify the price thinking that normal honey would do.. but I truly do miss it. My Problem Solver mask is a loner without Honey Mud.

I actually haven’t tried most of the products you picked out. Making a mental note here 🙂

Coola is definitely one of my favourite sunscreens, especially in the summer as it helps keep my face matte. It has a really interesting consistency, like liquid silk! Unfortunately I don’t feel it’s hydrating enough in the colder months (or I need to moisturise better!) which is when I use Balance Me’s Natural Moisturiser with SPF 25. Both are really good.

Yeah, the Honey Mud is a bit on the steep side but I definitely think it’s worth the money as it does contain other skin-loving ingredients that regular honey doesn’t. And if you use it as a mask it will probably last longer. I haven’t restocked it yet as I have other masks and cleansers to go through but once I’ve used up more of the latter I will purchase it again. I loved using it as a morning cleanser.

Hope you get to try out some of my picks, apologies if I just made your wish list longer! 😉 xx
