Happy 2016 green beauty bunnies!! I hope you all had the most wonderful Christmas holiday with your loved ones and that the new year has started off with a beautiful bang! If you follow me on Instagram you already know that my love of 7 years proposed to me on Christmas Eve…it was absolutely unexpected and magical and I’ve been on cloud nine ever since. Even though we’ve been together for a while, taking our relationship to the next level has put a definite sparkle on things…not to mention on my finger! 😉 Will I ever tire of looking at the beautiful ring…probably not. Please excuse me while I daydream….
Alright Nic, enough of that. Let’s get down to some other very exciting news! If you’ve been following Leahlani Skincare on Instagram and Facebook (crawl out from under that rock and follow NOW!) then you’ll have seen the most beautiful, dazzling, mesmerizing and thoroughly stunning photos of Leah’s new creations that she’s tirelessly been working on for the past few years (be still my green beauty heart, be still). From Bless Beauty Balm to Meli Glow Illuminating Nectar Mask to Kalima Coconut Cream Cleansing Powder and so many more (triple swooooon! The names, oh the names!), the Queen of Mermaids has utterly surpassed herself with the redesign of her gorgeous brand. If you know anything about me then you know that my love for Leah and Leahlani goes deep. Very deep. If I had to choose one skincare brand to stick with for the rest of my life, yes, you read that right, for the REST of my life, Leahlani would be the one. Sure, I love to play around with a whole bunch of different brands as much as the next green beauty lover, many are effective and aesthetically pleasing but there’s always one brand that I come back to (and that I use the most products from on the daily) and that is Leahlani. I don’t say this lightly but the choice would be oh so easy. And with her recent launch of additional new products to her ohana, I reckon I’ll have all my skin concerns addressed and lovingly taken care of. Of this I have no doubt.
Being family-oriented myself, I love the fact that Leah employed the help of one of her sisters, Hali, with the serenely beautiful design that you now see adorn all the Leahlani pots and bottles. I honestly don’t think anyone could have done a better job in capturing all that Leah is in the beautiful soft, fluid water colour design. Only a soul sister could have done that and I can only imagine how much closer this journey has brought these two sisters together. Having a sister I am insanely close to myself only makes me appreciate this more.
Hali really couldn’t have described it any better in her recent Instagram post about how Leahlani has evolved. The brand has never tried to conform to what the industry expects (pretty packaging to sell well or appear exclusive) and yet people who have tried her products come back for more every.single.time. Why is that? Due to the fact that Leah’s magic works and a million pretty bottles won’t do that for you unless what is inside is real and authentic (I, for one, am never without a back up pot of the Mermaid Mask. It happened once and it was a horrible experience). I am thrilled that what is on the inside is now also reflected in the stunning packaging and design, because Leahlani deserves to be in every beauty aficionado’s bathroom. And sometimes pretty is the way there. I guess you could say that up to now, the quaint packaging was that shy girl, the one people knew had amazing talents and with time she has bloomed into a beautiful, show-stopping butterfly and she’s not that shy anymore! Not the usual way a brand evolves but this is what makes Leahlani even more special.
It’s impossible to write a Leahlani post without putting the spotlight on the genius creator herself, Leah Klasovsky. We have a wonderful phrase in Swedish which I have mentioned in another post regarding an ingredient, but it begs to be used in association with Leah too; a loved child has many names. If you read the posts that many green beauty bloggers publish on Instagram you will see there is no end to the many loving descriptions we have for this beautiful soul who has touched so many of us; through her energy, her spirit, her words and not least of all, her manna-like skincare. Loving, amazing, divine, special, authentic, pure, sweet, and the list goes on and on. Hailing from a 10 year holistic esthetician background, who is better armed with knowledge on what works on skin? Coupled with her love for the Hawaiian islands and its abundant fruits and treasures, you will never be in doubt where that pot or bottle comes from. It is the scent of Kauai, captured so beautifully and intricately that even a mere mortal in Sweden can transform her daily skincare routine into a tropical paradise (thank you Leah for making long dark winters just a little more bearable!). When I was suffering from a stubborn skin condition, Leah so thoughtfully put together a bespoke bath soak to ease my discomfort…I still can’t fully finish it because I can’t get enough of the scent. That’s right, almost a year on and I still go and open the pot and inhale the intoxicating scent which is now so strongly associated with calm, love and relaxation. This is why I know her new creations smell equally addictive and perform to the high Leahlani standard. I have my favourites of course but I have never disliked a single scent from her line…I guess my body knows instinctively what is good for me 🙂 I have never been able to say the same about another brand. And Leah has set the bar high.
I have previously reviewed my holy grail product from the line, the Mermaid Mask here and I’ve added another holy grail to my routine, namely the exquisitely named Bless Beauty Balm, and this after only receiving a sample of it. That’s how amazing it is. This ballerina pink balm melts instantly upon loving application on your skin, cocooning all your senses in a subtly fragrant yet not-too-subtle-you-can’t-tell-it’s-there scent…for me it took me back to my childhood holidays in Hawaii, days filled with happiness, sunshine and care-free fun. Any product that is able to transport me back to such days wins a place in my heart without question. I’ve been lusting after this blessed balm ever since last spring when a sample lasted me two wonderful weeks, when I used it mainly as a balm cleanser. Since then, I haven’t been able to find another product that even closely compares in texture, scent (hard to go wrong with orange blossom and blue tansy), colour (what can I say, I adore pink) and efficacy. Bless Beauty Balm is a multitasking, hard-working little bee that will spoil your skin and senses to the nth degree. Leah has really created something magical with this one and for those of you concerned about a balm leaving you shiny, let me dispel those fears. Bless will only leave you with skin reminiscent of small baby cherubs and smelling equally so. Trust me mermaids, you NEED this in your life. An in-depth review of this and her other recently launched goodies will follow so, for now let’s get to the next exciting part of this post.
To celebrate the fantastic #leahlanilaunch as well as the fact that I recently got engaged and that it’s my birthday soon (January 15th, a birthday I share with my fiancé to boot!) along with my blog imminently turning 2 in February (phew, think I covered it all), I am hosting a giveaway with none other than Leahlani. One extremely lucky winner will win not only one, not only two, not only three but FOUR gorgeous products from this impeccable Hawaiian skincare line. Three of them will be my personal favourites; the Mermaid Mask (you saw that coming! It is only my HG mask after all), Bless Beauty Balm (#orgaNicobsessions4realz) and my you-go-where-I-go perfume, Kauai Orchid. The fourth product I have asked Leah to choose herself so that will remain a surprise until the lucky winner receives her package. I had plans to finance everything myself but Leah has so very generously offered to gift the prizes so my only cost will be the shipping to one very lucky mermaid somewhere in the world. Yes, this giveaway is open internationally since there is no way I could restrict this to one world region 😉 To be eligible to win, simply fill in the Rafflecopter below and cross your fingers! For extra points, be sure to repost my Instagram photo “New post up at OrgaNic Obsessions + Giveaway” using #leahlanilovegiveaway and #organicobsessionscelebrations. The giveaway starts today and will close on Saturday, January 23rd so you have plenty of time to enter. Wishing you all lots of luck, and from Leah, coconut kisses and mermaid wishes! But don’t stop reading just yet!
I think most of you already know that Leah is hosting a giveaway of her own right this very minute with winners, yes, PLURAL, being announced on Monday so you still have time to enter that too, if you haven’t already. It’s a Leahlani Love Luau up in here! For more details on Leah’s giveaway on Instagram click here. Also, don’t forget to visit the new oh-so-stunning-it-hurts-my-eyes Leahlani website. It is Leah in code. I’ve already added it to my bookmarks bar since I see many trips there in my near future 🙂
Here’s to a year filled with pink skies, an abundance of love and light and days of happiness and great skincare 😉 I’ve taken care of one of them for you. You’re welcome.
